Risk Management for Recreation Leaders
Effective risk management is a key element of a successful 21st century sport organization. It helps to eliminate many of the ‘fires’ or obstacles that prevent organizations and leaders from achieving their optimal performance and it can also shield them against legal claims, participant injuries and reputational harm. In this 2-hour webinar session, Jason Robinson from Sport Law will share important risk management language and concepts that will help guide your organization in implementing an effective risk management framework. Jason will share why this framework is so important for your programs, facilities and services, and he will also guide participants through several risk assessment scenarios to help them understand how risk management works. Jason Robinson, BHK, CP, joined Sport Law in 2015, after eighteen years working in professional and amateur sport. He specializes in risk management and meeting procedures, as well as offering strategic services in planning, governance and member engagement. His risk management portfolio includes organizational workshops, risk assessments and audits, and comprehensive policy suite development. Jason is a strong believer in integrating risk management into decision-making at all levels.
